The PKS faction of the DPR RI, through the Deputy Chairperson for Political, Legal and Human Rights, Sukamta, congratulated Joe Biden on the election of Joe Biden in the United States Presidential Election. Sukamta stated that the results of the US presidential election will have an impact on global political dynamics and influence, either directly or indirectly, on Indonesia, especially in political or economic relations, either bilaterally or regionally.
“Congratulations to Joe Biden and the people of the US on having a new president. Biden’s victory provides hope for stability in several regions and the weakening of US economic tensions with China which will indirectly affect the Indonesian economy. ”
Sukamta who is also the Chairman of the Overseas Development and Development Agency (BPPLN) DPP PKS also highlighted Biden’s slogan in this presidential election, namely “to restore dignified leadership at home and respected leadership on the world state”. In his opinion, Biden will be more subtle in comparison to Trump.
“Although it has a similar goal, namely trying to restore the role of the US as a world superpower. In addition, traditionally when the government is led by a Democratic party, the issues raised are usually related to democracy, climate change and human rights. These issues will be related indirectly in diplomacy with Indonesia. ”
In addition to congratulating Biden, this British graduate doctoral also advised the Indonesian Government to maximize changes in leadership in the United States for Indonesia’s special interests in the fields of economy and defense and security. Meanwhile, in terms of Indonesia’s position as the UN Security Council, Indonesia together with the United States must continue to promote world peace, such as the resolution of prolonged conflicts in the Middle East, South China Sea and, in particular, the struggle for Palestinian independence.
