Jakarta (04/07) — Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Parliamentary Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP), Mardani Ali Sera, at a meeting of the Chairman of the BKSAP with the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, on Friday (03/07), suggested the need for Indonesia to create a special institution to encourage Palestinian independence.
“Minister, BKSAP DPR RI fully supports the Indonesian Foreign Ministry’s policy against the ‘Deal of Century’ policy which will be carried out by Israel annexing the west bank of Palestine and the Jordan valley as to safeguard our constitutional mandate to refuse colonialism in any form,” Mardani said, at the Pancasila Building, Ministry of Ministry Outside RI.
Prosperous Justice Party legislator appreciates the Government and the World which could make Israel delay the annexation on July 1.
“This momentum can we push for Israeli-Palestinian reconciliation to the negotiating table to find a permanent solution,” Mardani said
On that occasion, Mardani proposed creating a special institution to encourage Palestinian independence.
“Indonesia must be the foremost in encouraging Palestinian independence, I propose the need for a special institution to encourage the struggle for Palestinian independence,” suggested Mardani.
He described the institution as being under the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs structure, which is tasked with carrying out a special diplomacy function to realize an Independent Palestine.
“There needs to be a special institution that has the role of mobilizing the international community’s support to realize Palestine Independence, and if necessary, we can invite the community to this institution,” Mardani.
Mardani said this meeting as support from the DPR’s BKSAP to the Government to be able to continue to speak out loudly in the international community rejecting colonialism in any form, including by pressing the US to Indonesia.
“Until Israel stops, we will continue to encourage the Government to violently oppose any form of occupation in Palestine. “They are not blocked anymore, Jerusalem is not claimed by Israel as a one-sided claim and supports that the Palestinian people can live more properly as citizens of the world,” he concluded.
